Tank 300: Great Wall’s New Body-On-Frame SUV

Some details about the Wey Tank 300 are kept secret, but we managed to find out something.

The Wey Tank 300 is the first Chinese premium #SUV by Great Wall, which debuted at the exhibition in Chengdu. Back then, the presented car had tinted windows, which did not allow you to see the interior. Now, the photos of the interior have been revealed by the manufacturer itself. Also, some details about the equipment of the new vehicle have become known.

The interior of the SUV is designed in full accordance with the exterior. Inside, straight lines predominate, which adds a certain angularity. A digital cockpit and an infotainment system are integrated into a single unit.

The both tablets have received a diagonal of 12.3 inches. Huge handles on the A-pillars make the SUV brutal. The entire interior decoration is as restrained as possible: leather and metal predominate among the used materials.

As for equipment, the new Wey Tank 300 is promised to have a driving mode control system, omnidirectional cameras, adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, and lane keeping. You can add remote control of individual functions to this list.

If much is known about the exterior and interior designs, there is no information about engines. The manufacturer keeps it a secret. Chinese media suggest that the new SUV will get the same engine as the Haval H9, namely a 2.0-liter turbo petrol unit with a power output 224 hp and 385 Nm.

The H9 is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. According to other information, the SUV relies on a new 2.0-liter engine that produces 245 hp and 385 Nm.

The new model will be unveiled in China this winter. Later, the manufacturer will present two more SUVs, which will be much larger than the Tank 300.
