The 2021 Nissan Pathfinder Is Already Tested on Public Roads

The new-generation Pathfinder has remained an SUV and has acquired a large infotainment system.

A prototype of the next, fifth-generation Nissan Pathfinder has been caught on camera during road tests. The body of the new Nissan SUV is completely covered with camouflage wrap, which makes it difficult to see the details of the exterior. One way or another, the return to the classic body-on-frame design is not worth waiting for.

However, the designers tried to make the 2021 Pathfinder more hard-boiled. Probably, the new car will get separate headlights like the 2021 Nissan X-Trail, although it is too early to judge. A thick layer of camouflage wrap does not allow seeing the design of the rear end. It is safe to say that the place for the license plate has been moved from the tailgate to the bumper.

Also, photospies managed to look into the interior of the new Pathfinder, but the designers did everything to «save» their creation from prying eyes. Almost the entire interior is covered with special covers. Only a fairly large display of an infotainment system is visible. It is probably a nine-inch touchscreen, as that of the X-Trail SUV.

As for the engine range, most likely, it will include a turbo V4 and a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6. And a full-fledged rechargeable version is expected in place of the mild hybrid. Rumor has it that a CVT will be replaced with a 9-speed automatic gearbox.

The premiere of the new Nissan Pathfinder will take place very soon. The SUV will be available on the market only in a year.
