The Jaguar Line-Up Is Supplemented with a Future Rival of the Tesla Model 3

The new Jaguar EV will replace the XE and will offer an increased ground clearance to compete with Tesla.

In the near future, the new electric model that will replace the Jaguar XE will appear in the line-up of the British brand. According to JLR Executive Director of Product Engineering Nick Rogers, the new model will be one of the electrified compact models, the development of which was supported by the Board of Directors of JLR. This successor to the compact sedan will be something between an SUV and a classic 4-door car and will be able to compete with the Tesla Model 3.

There is no official information about the electric replacement of the Jaguar XE at the moment. Presumably, the new EV will be built on the newly developed MLA JLR architecture. The new model will have an increased ground clearance in comparison with conventional sedans. This will provide additional space for placing batteries underbody.

Earlier, the company confirmed that the new flagship Jaguar XJ will also be fully electric. Its premiere is expected in 2021. These new model will supplement the brand's electric line-up, which already features the fairly successful I-Pace.
