Kia has showed the interior of the new Carnival MPV, which will be premiered in South Korea in 2020.

In June, Kia started disclosing information about the fourth-generation Kia Carnival MPV with a demonstration of its exterior. Although thanks to photospies, live photos of the new vehicle appeared even earlier. Kia positions the new Carnival as a grand utility vehicle (GUV). It is a minivan with SUV features in design. The designers call the concept interior as ‘Spatial Talents’ and even compare it to a spaceship.

The main feature of the interior is a digital cockpit and an infotainment system hidden under glass. It is possible that more affordable versions will get analog devices and a smaller infotainment system. Air deflectors draw a single line along the front fascia, and a climate control unit has touch buttons. A rotary shifter took the place of the conventional gear lever.

In addition, folding footrests are provided for the comfort of passengers. A 5-liter drawer is hidden in the back of the center console.

Officially, nothing is known about the technical side of the 2021 Kia Carnival. Korean media claim that the new car will be equipped with an upgraded 2.2-liter turbo diesel unit. The second engine is a 2.5-liter turbo Smartstream V4, which will replace a 3.3-liter 280-hp V6. But this is not all – rumor has it that the Carnival will also have a hybrid version.
