The Qoros 7 Is the Manufacturer's First Car in 4 Years

The new Chinese SUV of the not too successful Qoros brand is intended to save the company from bankruptcy.

China-based Qoros is owned by Baoneng Group, a financial services conglomerate, which also owns a stake in Chery. Until now, all the models produced by Qoros were not in high demand, but the manufacturer did not stop. The company has announced a new model — the Qoros 7 SUV built on the base of the Qoros 5. Unlike its predecessor, this one is slightly larger, but the models are identical sideways.

The main feature of the Qoros 7 is a 16.6-inch vertical infotainment touchscreen. It resembles similar tablets from Tesla. The new SUV has also received a separate vertical instrument cluster, a panoramic roof and a three-spoke steering wheel.

The engine range of the Qoros 7 will consist of two units: a 1.6-liter 204-hp turbo petrol V4 and a 1.8-liter 231-hp turbo engine. Both come with a dual-clutch transmission.

As for the other specifications, the manufacturer will publish them at the end of August. This is when the start of sales is planned. A price tag of the standard Qoros 5 starts from $19,800. It is worth noting that the new model is designed to return customers' interest in the brand's cars and increase sales.
