The Toyota Land Cruiser Prado has finally received the next update. Now, the car has different configurations, new active safety systems and a «grown-up» engine. The latter is not changed but slightly modernized. Now, the 2.8-liter 1GD-FTV diesel unit produces 204 hp and 500 Nm against the previous 177 hp and 450 Nm.

In addition, the manufacturer has managed to reduce fuel consumption by 17%. So far, this engine is only available for Japan, but Toyota promises that it will be delivered to other markets.

Another innovation is the updated Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 system, which can recognize bicyclists and pedestrians in advance. As for lane departure warnings and road sign recognition, they are now listed as standard equipment, what means that they will be available in all configurations. The list of options was supplemented by an infotainment system with a large 9-inch display and smartphone connectivity.
