Aston Martin Resumes Production of James Bond’s DB5

After 55 years, Aston Martin announces new production of the iconic DB5, also known as Bond’s car. The company's division in conjunction with the film producers will be responsible for the production of this iconic car.

Despite a high price tag, there will be plenty of people who will buy this DB5. No wonder that this limited edition model has received the name Goldfinger Continuation.

The cars will be released as a tribute to the third film about the British spy. So, each owner of an Aston Martin DB5 Goldfinger Continuation will get a full set of spy gadgets from the movie just for $3,370,000. This gadget list, for a second, includes a revolving license plate, rear smoke screen, and a bullet resistant rear shield. Oscar-winning special effects honcho Chris Corbould will also provide each “bondmobile” with fake machine guns and radar.

The model will also receive modern equipment. So, a running gear of the new DB5 will be assembled from low-carbon steel according to the original drawings, and body panels and a 4-liter naturally aspirated inline-six engine will be made of aluminum.

The engine will produce 294 hp, which will be transmitted to the rear axle via a five-speed manual transmission. The original DB5, which was produced in the mid-1960s, was not much poorer. Those cars were also equipped with 4-liter engines, but they produced 286 hp.
