Toyota Puts On Sale Its Last Formula 1 Car

Sotheby's together with the FIA will hold thematic auctions, which will feature, among other things, the last Toyota race car.

This charity auction is aimed, of course, at fighting the coronavirus. Lots are very decent at these auctions. The cherry on top is the TF109-01 car – the last car of the Toyota team that took part in the 2009 Formula 1 season.

In addition to the main lot, the auction will feature jumpsuits of current drivers – Sebastian Vettel, Charles LeClair, Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas. There are also Damon Hill’s helmet and jumpsuit from the victorious 1995 Australian Grand Prix and an opportunity to spend a day on Ferrari’s simulator in Maranello.

No doubt, the TF109-01 comes with an engine, gearbox and black livery called Pirelli. Do not be surprised by this livery – this car, which was originally a test car, was transferred to Pirelli at the end of the 2009 Formula 1 season. The company, in turn, tested tires on this model.
