What a 50-Year-Old Land Cruiser with a Chevrolet V8 Looks Like

A true classic in the face of Toyota Land Cruiser can play out in fresh colors, if there is a huge Chevrolet V8 engine under the hood.

We are all waiting for the Toyota Land Cruiser 300. But, as luck would have it, there are always classic examples of the legendary Japanese SUV that distract our attention. This time, it is a Toyota FJ-45 with a Chevrolet engine.

We are also surprised. This is not a production experiment or a limited series. One of the owners simply replaced the standard 6-cylinder engine of the 1973 Toyota Land Cruiser with a 5.7-liter Chevrolet V8.

The 'heart transplant’ took place in 2003. The previous owner, who bought a Toyota LC in 2005, has all the documents that confirm the alteration. It is interesting that the car was not almost used for 15 years. However, it overcame more than 105,000 km with a new engine for two years prior.

Obviously, such a mileage is a mere trifle. An old Toyota SUV can drive much longer. Moreover, the upgraded car features air conditioning and a modern audio system. Therefore, its new owner will be satisfied.

The unique Toyota FJ-45 will be sold at Mecum Auctions. There is no reserve, so the used car can be sold for any price. Something tells me that it can get close to $50,000.
