RS2 Avant-Like Body Kit for Old Audi Coupes

The German design studio will produce 40 sets of a body kit.

Prior Design and Germany-based JP Performance have released a body kit that turns the Audi Coupe B3 (1988-1996) or S2 Into something similar to the RS2 Avant. In total, 40 such sets will be produced at a price of €5,798 each.

The result of several months of intensive work can only be seen on renderings. A digital coupe model tries on an expanded body with “square” wings in the spirit of the Lancia Delta HF Integrale, a massive front splitter, canard wings, and a redesigned diffuser with oval exhaust pipes embedded on the sides.

The authors of the project were inspired by the Audi RS2 Avant, as well as the latest RS models from Ingolstadt. The slits on the hood, for example, are a clear reference to the 1984 Audi Sport quattro, although the new RS6 Avant and S3 have the same elements.

A variety of engines is dictated by the source car: the production Audi Coupé B3 was equipped with petrol engines of 1.8 to 2.3 liters, and the Audi S2 Coupé was equipped with a 2.2-liter supercharged unit that produced 230 hp and 350 Nm, allowing the car to accelerate to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and to reach a top of 246 km/h.

Prior Design has previously developed a very wide body kit for the Porsche Taycan that mimics the aerodynamic “plumage” of racing cars. The parts were made of carbon or fiberglass and supplemented with 22-inch wheels with five double spokes.
