Very Wide, Low and Angry Duster

A new tuning kit may be more expensive than the Duster itself.

Germany-based Prior Design has showed a very wide, low and angry Dacia Duster — the crossover has received an extreme wide body kit. So far, this is only a concept that exists in virtual form, but it is possible that the tuners will decide to dress up the real Duster in a tough set.

The tuning kit for the model includes a massive front bumper with a splitter, wheel arch extensions and side skirts. The renderings show a diffuser with a pair of large exhaust pipes. Besides, the Germans darkened the radiator grille and headlights, as well as installed wheels with a characteristic spoke design and red brake calipers.

So far, Prior Design has not provided almost any information about the new body kit – we only know that the team carefully studied the original and took it for a test drive before creating sketches. Judging by other projects of the studio, the body elements can be made of fiberglass or carbon fiber.

To date, the Prior Design portfolio includes tuning kits for both Porsche and Lamborghini supercars, as well as for more modest models of Hyundai, Volkswagen, Toyota and Nissan. So, the implementation of the renderings with the wide Duster does not seem improbable. However, it is possible that the cost of such a body kit will exceed the price of the crossover itself, which costs from €11,687 in Europe.

The European sales of the Dacia Duster have been growing steadily for 5 years in a row. Last year, the crossover sold 220,167 copies, making it one of the most popular compact models on the market.

Earlier, Prior Design decided to correct the design of the BMW M4, ridding the sports car of the most controversial element, namely a giant radiator grille.
