The Treacherous Route Turn of the 2020 Monte Carlo Rally Is Not Conquered by Any Driver

Monte Carlo is considered one of the most difficult stages of the SS3 Rally.

The Monte Carlo rally tracks are laid along winding mountain serpentines with a mixed surface: asphalt, snow and ice. Combined with speed, it creates an extremely dangerous situation.

The Monte Carlo Rally is the first one in the Championship. The Hyundai team’s start was very unsuccessful: a furious i20 Coupe WRC flew off the track at a speed of 180 km/h. Rally driver Ott Tänak and co-driver Martin Järveoja miraculously escaped unscathed, though the car was smashed into pieces. This happened at the second stage of the Championship. During the third stage, all the riders were expecting a treacherous slippery turn.

While studying the itinerary, the race participants noted this difficult turn. It seemed that they should have been ready for it but none of the drivers managed to enter the curve. The Ford Racing Team chose the worst trajectory and speed for this turn. Well, watch the video and judge for yourself.
